Just got an (I think) 1997 DR30C motor in great shape. We're converting it to remote steer, and I can't figure out how to remove the tiller arm. There are two nuts visible from underneath the tiller arm bracket that seem to hold the assembly to the bracket, but there's not enough room to get a wrench in there properly. I ordered a manual but can't seem to find a download or info online about this. Does anyone have pointers on this process, or maybe a picture of the right page in the manual?
I'll try to post photos of the actual fasteners later, didn't take any last night when we fought with this problem. The closest I got is this picture of my buddy looking at the assembly in question- the nuts we couldn't remove are inside the bracket he's looking at: https://photos.app.goo.gl/hY7Vbh8vErV26VLZ7
We also tried getting a tiny Dremel-type die grinder in there, and there wasn't enough room. The main issue is that the nuts don't have enough room to come off the studs before they hit the bracket wall. I assume this means that I should be disassembling the rod assembly inside the tiller arm rather than trying to unbolt the whole assembly?
Thank you in advance.
