  • DF70A Starting but misfiring and stalling

    Good day,
    My first post!
We have a DF70A outboard fitted to our aluminium workboat. It is starting okay and idling, but once revved up it starts misfiring and eventually stalls.
Checks done; Fuel drained and replenished with new. Primed to LP fuel pump.
O-Rings renewed on quick connect to fuel tank
Removed the priming bulb due to a split, connected straight and currently sitting the tank high above engine.
    Spark plugs are new
    LP fuel filter cleaned
Throttle body butterfly movement is free
Air box and plenum inspected, found okay.
I have spares in transit, new priming bulb and some service items. Currently offshore India.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Did you clean all the fuel out? High pressure fuel pump fuel rail that feeds injectors?
It really sounds like water in the fuel
A friend as a similar issue and even after having a dealer clean it out buying new fuel tank and hoses fresh fuel he couldn't get it to run
Drained fuel bowl and after a fair number of attempts finally got it to fire and run
Rough at first but after an hour of fishing it was running properly

      Hi,
Thanks for your note, I have been away for 8 weeks and want to get it in the water for a test when possible. The spares I ordered have been fitted, priming bulb, fuel filter but nobody can convince me that its operation is correct.
I will find out for myself!
      Thanks
