  • New color gauges

I just installed 2 new DF90's with the new color multifunction gauges. I did everything the same for the port and stbt motors but for some reason the stbt motor gauge does not work. It will turn on but the values stay at zero... There is no rpm not trim etc. I might have had the wiring wrong at first but now it is correct do I need to reset the gauges?

Thank you any help would be appreciated.

Have you configured the Suzuki interfaces to set them up as "two engines and two fuel tanks?

I have done that it, it recognizes that it is the stabt motor and it is a 2 motor installation.

Ok, thats good. Its one of the core steps required.

First thing to check is to chck that the problematic display is actually detecting the other devices on the network. Turn everything that is attached to the network, including engines, on. Then go into that displays menu and find the network menu, and the network device list. Check that eveything you have on the network is listed on the device list. You should see the 2 Suzuki emgines and the other display. If they are not all listed, then you have a network connction problem.

Next, i am not sure how much you understand about the NMEA2000 system but the devices are attached to the network, rather than the old analogue gauges where gauge 1 is attached to engine 1 and gauge 2 is attached to engine 2.

So this means that the displays have to be set up (basically you have to tell each one) what data you want it to display.

So step 1 is what youve done - to tell the network that is has 2 engines attached to it, and to name each of those engines in the network menu so you can determine which one is which.

Step 2 is to set up each display to show the data you want it to display.
Most people, for obvious reasons, want the L display to show data from the port engne, and the R display to show starboard engine data.

So, what have you done on that starboard display re setting its data sources? The port display (gauge) will probably default to that engine but the starboard one will need to be set up to show data from that engine.

Also, remember that the engine interface attached to the starboard engine will only transmit engine data when that engines key is turned on.

Some more details about what youve actually done or tried already will help.

@moonlighter, thank you for your help. I found the problem it was my initial setup of the gauges. I had the stbd engine set as 2nd unit because I thought it is the second motor but that setting is for a second helm station...
