Trying to sell a DF50 and have an interested buyer that would want to repower from Mercury to Suzuki. Does anybody have any Mercury experience or brand switching experience? Trying to find some wiring diagrams from Mercury and it seems there are fewer wires, so we may need to add wire to get full control capability electric wise (to include PTT, etc.) I don't mind the electrical work and differences.
About the control cables... Is there a standard in use between brands for control cables as far as size, and travel distance goes? Could I expect to remove the Mercury engine and controls and use the existing Mercury control cables with a Suzuki motor and Suzuki NA12S control box?
