will 1987 LU fit 1984 ?

Will a lower unit from a 1987 200 hp special edition fit a 1984 140 hp,the 140 has the lower unit crack of death,found a 200 hp special edition on craigs list,any compatability?thanks for the help!

not positive but i think your 140 is an inline 4 and i know the 200's were v6's in 87 so if thats correct no it is probably a completely different drive, normal hp classes/ family, is 90/115/140 at least currently it is not sure what engines shared styles then.

thanks for the reply!does anyone know what years/HP would be compatable,so I know what to look for?thanks for your help,also maybe a good source for used suz parts,This is my sons motor I am trying to fix it for him while he is deployed.
