Please help

I have an older (94) Suzuki 2-cycle outboard 75 hp. Last season I began to get an audible alarm when running the outboard at higher RPM. This alarm was never present when at idle or low speed but when I began to accelerate I could hear it. It is an intermitant beeping. Any ideas about what that might be would be really helpful. Could be overheat alarm or oil alarm, may need to replace water pump and check oil injection system is working properly.

Is it used in salt water? If so, I have seen scaling in the water jacket that prevents proper cooling at higher RPM. Hope this isn't it, but something else to be aware of. Good luck.
