2010 suzuki 175 overheat alarm

Hi I have a 2010 suzuki 175 with less than ten hours on it.It's been running well until yesterday when the dash alarms and red overheat light came on.The engine also stopped.We were able to restart immediately and made it back to land but could not get power above 2500-3000rpm.There were no blockages and what appears to be plenty of water flow through the engine. Any ideas would be appreciated.Thanks.

Definitely one to get checked by your Suzuki dealer. It sounds like you've overheated and then the motor has gone into limp-home mode. As soon as the dealer hooks up to the laptop, the error codes will show what has happened and how to fix it will be clear.
