  • DT40 - hydraulic tilt droops down

    Hello

I have a 1989 DT40 which runs really quite nicely, only the hydraulic ram to tilt & lift the motor has an issue. I can raise the motor using the remote button no problem, but upon release of button, the motor droops all the way back down again. I'm suspecting it may be a worn o-ring/seal on the piston in the hydraulic ram as I cannot see a hydraulic fluid leak anywhere.. and if there was a leak, how would it be able to lift the motor up each time...?

Thoughts and advice appreciated if anyone has any ideas?

    thanks
    frank

I tried rebuilding/replacing all the seals in mine, but it didn't work very well. Mostly because no one sells the exact o'rings/seals needed/that fit. I ended up buying the replacement ram assy, with my home made wrench, unscrewed the old ram/top assy swapped with the new assy and everything worked fine.

The manual release value could be acting up? Just a guess.
