DF90 2018 starts in limp mode.

Problem started while cruising.
started feeling like a miss. Wouldn’t go over 3000.
no code no flashing lights.
Was not overheating I was watching the temp.
nmea network.
Back to dock let cool down. Starts in fail safe mode.
still no lights or flashing codes.

Might be neutral switch on motor is loose or bad?

Best guess, have a look at the switch near the gear lever on the engine, it is designed to limit RPM to approx 3,000 when in neutral to prevent over revving with no load. It’s a simple switch, on or off, a visible inspection to see if it’s loose or broken, or a couple of minutes with a meter will check.
