ordered some replacement anodes and the ones that came appear to be aluminum instead of zinc. Says for use in fresh/saltwater but wasn't sure if that's correct?

Boat is used in saltwater and always had the zincs.

I just switched from zinc to aluminium. In order to provide protection, the highest practicable voltage difference possible is required between the sacrificial anode and the metal to be protected. Aluminium anodes generate a higher voltage and last longer than zinc, in addition I get protection in fresh water. They are not pure aluminium, have some zinc and indium added.
