What could cause the #1 cylinder to shut down on a DF20A?

Manual start DF20a. No codes read when the cylinder shuts down after 2-3 minutes at 1/4 throttle (wake speed). Will shut down quicker at 3/4 throttle

Always comes back after shut down and restart only to drop out again.

steady blinking red light but no codes with the laptop and diagnostic cable (wasted $75 bucks!)

Could the stator fail after it gets warm?
Bad coil? Can you swap coils and see if it follows the coil
I'd change the plugs too, cheap and easy
