Throttle linkage problems 115 hp

I just did a workover on a center console which meant dissasembly. I have a 2008 115 Suzuki with a single binnacle remote shifter. When I went to reinstall the shifter I could not get the throttle linkage to meet up wth the throttle arm assembly. What am I doing wrong?
