  • Probably a silly question

I have a 92 DS 25. I would like to bolt it to my 14 foot aluminum boat. There are 2 "open holes on the mounting bracket. Do I just drill holes through the transom that line up with the mounting holes and slide bolts through and crank them on tight along with the regular clamps? I have never seen an "open" hole like this for mounting. Thanks in advance for the help.

Center and clamp the motor , double check on the inside of the transom to see where the bolts will come out ,use the holes as a drill guide, use stainless bolts flat washers and lock nuts.

Thank you so much cprice11, I wasn't sure if there was some sort of special mounting hardware because the holes were open. Thanks again, I appreciate it.

Forgot to remind you to seal the holes if they are below the waterline

Cprice11, it doesn't matter if they are above or below the waterline, they should always be sealed on both sides to prevent water getting between the layers of the hull at the transom.

Your right, could cause rot if it has wood in the transom.
