Engine holder corrosion

I have read plenty about engine holder corrosion on the DF140 but the DF175 has a removable cover but the same part number for the plug should this plug be replaced with an aluminium one on this engine also.

I have a DF150. Same motor, different tune. I haven't checked mine, but might be that the part listed now is the part to correct and prevent the corrosion problem in the DF140 and is thus the same plug as in our motors. In other words, it has superceded the older part number for the DF140 plug. The DF150/175 model did not appear until 2006, and that's about the time that they fixed the corrosion problem in the DF140 line. Maybe we should check the plug with a magnet.

It's steel

Checked the plug with a magnet and it is steel. I removed the plug and there is no sign of corrosion of the cover so to be safe I will replace the plug with an after market aluminium one. If there is corrosion at least on the DF175 you can replace the affected cover.
