  • K-value for 300 HP

Bought a new boat with a Suzuki 300. I love the boat and motor combo except I'm having issues with the fuel set-up. I can't get the fuel used correct and doing some research the K value is way to high. I've attached pic of what my display shows. (I didn't know how to embed it into the post).

    Hi Steve

I see that the K value is rediculous and that the fuel flow you are getting is also rediculous. Because "fuel used" is derived from fuel flow, if fuel flow is wrong, so will fuel used be wrong.

The K value is set by calibrating the fuel flow, and cannot be changed any other way that I am aware of.

You say this is a new boat? Dealer set the network up?

If so, talk to the dealer, because it is highly likely that they have the wrong interface software/interface cable installed on your motor - the rediculous fuel flow data is typical when the wrong interface software version is being used.

No amount of calibrating will ever fix that fuel flow problem, the only way is to install the correct interface with the right software to suit the engine year. With a 2016 or 17 year engine you need V 3.5.0 interface software.

Also, check the sw version on the gauge itself - I assume you have the Suzuki C-10 gauge?

It should be running C10 version 1.1-50.2.125. With a 2017 engine, It is important that you run the correct combination of interface and gauge software or it wont work properly.

See here for the official recommendations re software combinations for different engine years:

Suzuki | LOWRANCE | Marine Electronics

If you want to check what interface version is currently installed before you talk to dealer, in gauge menu, find the network menu, device list, select the Suzuki device and it should then show details including the interface software version. For a 2017 motor, it should be version 2.7.0.

Thanks for the reply!! The set-up was "factory" installed. I bought it from a deal a dealer and had to move so I need to find a new dealer closer to me. I was hoping I could do it myself. It's time for it's 20 hour oil change so I'll let you know how it turns out!

Steve - I must apologise, I have re-read my eralier post and I must have been half asleep when I wrote it!! I have edited my post accordingly to correct the interface version.

With an engine newer than 2013, it must run an interface cable with software version 3.5.0 installed. Othewise weird things will happen.
