I am trying to remove the cylinder head on my 2000 DF 60. Do I need to remove the power head from the motor first? I have a shop manual for 1997-2000 9.9-70HP engines.
My specific question is about two studs at the bottom of the head and whether removing the power head will aid in getting the cylinder head off or not. You can see the stud that is on the port side of the engine sticking through the mating part in the attached photo. I just do not see how remover my the power head will make any difference in getting the cylinder head off the block.
Anyone ever remove a head of of a DF60 or DF70?
