My 1998 DF70 lower unit is bad. I have found a used 2003 lower unit. Will it work on my 1998 outboard?

Click on the "Purchase Suzuki Parts" link in red in the banner near the top of this forum, it takes you to apwhere ypu can select your engine and year.

I had a quick look and it appears that the same gear cluster applies up to 2000 but is a different set after that.

But check for yourself!

Thanks. I had a feeling that was the case but I was hoping the entire lower unit was interchangeable. It seems the later years are more available.
