Just picked up this motor two months ago with the boat I just purchased. Twice now I have been in throttle for 30 minutes or so and when I put it in neutral the RPMS stay above 2000. Twice I have had to turn it off and turn it back in to get the idle running at 750. I ruled out the throttle cable because it fixes itself by turning off the motor. I recently changed the PTT relay but didn't do anything else. Anyone have any insight on what the issue may be? Not a mechanic but I am fairly handy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
