Johnson J70pl4SN same as Suzuki DF70?

Hi There!
We have a 70hp EFI motor from Johnson (product J70PL4SN) that has been working great for the last years but is aging now and showing some issues lately, which Im trying to service by myself.
Im good with car mechanics but never touched a marine motor.

I've read somewhere that this motor was 100% manufactured by Suzuki and might be equivalent to a Suzuki DF70 engine, is this true? Would I be fine with Suzuki parts for anyting in this motor?

Also right now our boat is grounded due to a faulty VST. Original pump, product number 5032617 seems expensive, around $390. A quick google lookup with this product code shows this same pump at a fraction of this price, is it safe to purchase it at a different (not marine) source?

Yes it is a Suzuki DF70 with Johnson badges.

I heard that they used Johnson control boxes so that stuff is different.

Many of the components of marine engines are shared with automotive components. I know that Mutsubishi supplies some Suzuki components. Eg IAC valves from Mitsubishi.

So if you can find auto parts with the same part number there is a good chance they will work. Especially if made by the same supplier.
