Hello everyone new member checking in! I just picked up my first Suzuki outboard so figured it’s a good time to join this forum!
My boat is a 2002 Triton 2200CC (deep V center console) and earlier in February I got rid of the Mercury 200 2-stroke and just picked up a brand new Suzuki DF175AP. Would have went with the 200hp but this 175hp came available and with the engine shortages I figured best to pull the trigger otherwise I may not be fishing this year.
I am self installing the engine and the shop mentioned I would need the engine ‘programmed’ since this is the fly by wire model. I am hooking up an SMG4 gauge and will link it to a NMEA network I have on the boat. Is this true? Do I really need the shop to activate or program something?
