  • Suzuki 150 2 stroke problems

I have a 150 outboard, 2 stroke fuel injection,1998, been advised that the right bank of cylinders (3 of them) are not getting spark at all times and that the CDI (computer brains) of motor is probably the issue. Problem is this part is on back order from Suzuki, wondering if anyone has had similar problems and if it is the cdi where might I find one

On many models dropping one bank is how the motor goes into limp mode.

If your motor is in limp mode, it could be caused by a bad reading from the oil sensor, a heat sensor, a neutral safety switch (not working), or maybe the charging circuit not putting out proper voltage.

The CDI (condenser discharge ignition module) sends the signal to fire the plugs. If the CDI is firing one bank, it may be one of the above items putting the motor in limp mode?

If you have a manual it will tell you how to test each of the items, and more.

Try looking up your motor at browns point.

Once you find what your actual motor is, then select what part you need, if you click on that part it will give you a list of all the years, and motors your parts were use on.

If you Google those part numbers, with the item name, you may find something show up.

Good luck. Post back when able to let us know what you find out.
