When I purchased my DF30A a few years ago, I researched and decided to switch to a SS prop. Same thing I've done with my previous Tohatsu's in the past with no issues.
Well, after I installed the SS prop, Solas I believe it was, I launched it and when I cranked it, I got the worst vibration. The entire motor package vibrated HORRIBLY at idle and I had to shut it down immediately. I thought something was wrong with the motor at that time. Did a little research and found out that small Suzuki's seem to become very unbalanced with heavier (SS) props. I was bummed because I really like having a SS prop for the shallow estuaries and bays where the occasional oyster bed, etc may come up unexpectedly.
Anyway, point is I would like to try out a SS prop again and was wondering if a 4-blade might work better since I would imagine it would have a better weight distribution and might not cause the extreme vibration as the 3-blade. Or am I completely wrong?
Anyone have experience with this issue and overcoming it?
Thanks.
