I change oil and filters on my truck, wife's car, my tractor and never spill a drop, but I'm getting dang tired of cleaning up the mess when I do the outboard. I've changed oil and filter quite a few times on my DF150, and every time manage to make a nice mess. I've taken to just draining the crankcase into a 5 gallon bucket, using a funnel to keep things relatively clean. But that dang filter!!. Anybody try to punch a hole in it to drain the oil before removing the filter? It just gets all over everything, and I'm thinking of trying to punch a hole in the filter next time to see if it helps.
