  • Still Need Help Identifying One Wire

I have taken both midsections off and cannot find a connection for this wire set. When I turn the key halfway I hear a beep so I have life to controls. Trim works great. Motor does not turn over when I engage key. I am thinking that this wire set may be the reason. Anyone have any ideas?

If that's a white with a yellow tracer, then it's the trim sender (which connects to the trim meter). To find it look at the wiring diagram. In my service manual for a 2004 it's page 14-25.

So...that being the trim wire, you still have a problem. Have you tested the ignition switch with a volt/ohm meter, checked for power to the switch, fuses, harnesses for continuity, wire connections for tightness, corrosion, etc?
