  • 2004 DF250 Engine hi-low revving at top of throttle

First post here fellow Suzuki owners. My DF250 revs up and down when I take it to the top of the throttle. So far I have replaced the Racor/Sierra fuel separator in the bilge. Pulled the fuel vapor separator on the front of the engine and cleaned it out good. Pulled the low pressure fuel pump - fuel vapor separator and cleaned it good.

Still running the same. So is it time to take off the VST and clean fuel pump filter. Seems like a challenge; so should I let a shop do it?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

After all that you have done I would not think the high pressure pump and filter will be much of a challenge
There have been a number of threads that have been on the subject of that fuel filter
Would also suggest getting the full service manual
Makes some of the jobs a bit easier knowing the correct order

One other thought have you checked the fuel tank venting? Little critters have been known to make home in vent holes one way to help would be to check the fuel pump bulb if it collapsing on you when running the tank is not venting properly

''' I can't read anything about replacing the high pressure filter, I think you should change that before you tackle the vst, unless you are calling it the fuel vapour separator on the front of the engine.
