Help 2001 Df70 wont fire

I have a 2001 Df70 4 stroke that quit on me today. I changed the fuel water separator yesterday because the boat bogged down a couple times on Monday.
The engine started fine and ran for a couple minutes this morning. I got about 100 yards from the boat ramp and it started sputtering then quit.
It will crank but wont fire off. I took the hose after the fuel pump off and it is sending fuel when I try and start it. All 4 spark plugs look good.
Does anyone have any ideas before I take this to the shop.

When you changed out the water/fuel filter was there water in it?
How old was the fuel you were using?
You may have to clean the fuel system and high pressure fuel pump and fuel rail
Try starter fluid in the air intake and see if it will fire up
