Hello, my 2008 suzuki DF200 is giving me trouble again. 500hrs. Water passages are like new, no corrosion. I drove 2 hrs to the lake today for the boat to not start with beeping. I finally got it started but there was a fuel slick on the water around it and it definitely did not sound right. I was getting code 3-1. Luckily I had my laptop with SDS and service manuals with me. I hooked up SDS and it said check IAC bypass adjustment, and MAP sensor 2 error. So for the IAC code, I decided to twiddle the bypass screw. That did not help, so I checked the tube that feeds it. The tube was clear. I tried to blow through the tube into the throttle body but I couldn't, so I took out the air bypass screw and poked in there with a little bit of wire. Sure enough, a mud dauber nest came out. I put that bit back together and now I could blow through the tube. Thinking I had that issue solved, I tried to start the engine. Still ran like crap and still throwing codes. It would start, rev up to 1000, and die. Fuel slick on the water. I opened the air bypass and turned the ignition switch. I heard a very high pitched blip from the buzzer, and then everything went blank, and the low pressure pump would not run. Thinking it may be the IAC, I disconnected that and turned the key. Same high pitched bleep, the tach would not show the hours as it usually does, but the LP pump ran. Turning the key to start did nothing. At this point I got cheesed and went for a swim, put the boat on the trailer and went to a nearby place to stay overnight. I also disconnected the battery to clear the codes.
The next day, I pulled the IAC, connected it, and turned the key. Everything was surprisingly normal, and I visually saw the IAC move. Except for that MAP sensor 2 code. The IAC code had cleared itself and did not reappear. I pulled the map sensor after reading in the manual that the pressure sensing passage may be clogged, but it was clear. SDS was showing a pressure of 117 kpa. I took the sensor and tried blowing and sucking on it, but that did not change its reading. I tapped it at the intake manifold and it started changing the reading when I blew and tapped on it, but now atmospheric pressure was showing up as 75 kpa. I am pretty sure atmospheric pressure is 101.4 kpa in my area, and does not vary much. Am I right in thinking that my MAP sensor is bad? Would the 117kpa reading be basically telling the ECM that the air pressure, and hence density was very high, and therefore it was dumping a ton of fuel into the engine causing the fuel slick on the water and making the engine run super rich? Also, right now it is showing 75kpa, I think that is way too little, that would probably make it run lean and cook the motor? Is there a denso or other aftermarket company that makes these sensors?
Secondly, I was getting no pee stream. Just after installing a new water pump kit (entire kit). I tried cleaning out the pee hole, but then the pee stream was very weak compared to the old pump. Any ideas on what I messed up?
