I recently acquired a 2003 115 Suzuki 4 stroke on a Landeau Tritoon.
First thing I did when I got it home was pull the cover and check the oil. I was told that it had been recently serviced but the oil was dark black and not knowing how long it had been I decided to service it anyways. However, the thing I noticed more than anything was that the level on the dipstick was well above the upper dot on the dipstick. I wasnt too concerned about it since I was changing it so I didnt think too much about it.
The Manual calls for 6 qts for a DF 115 motor so I ordered 6 qts of Ecstar and a new Zuk filter.
Changed the oil and after putting all 6 quarts in its quite high on the dipstick again. (Nearly twice as high as it should be)
Wrong dipstick?
6 quarts is what Im reading in the manual. All I’m doing is adding the amount the manual is calling for. Can someone that knows confirm or deny this info?
This is driving me a bit crazy as Im a little OCD with my equipment.
Thank you
