I am wiring up a 2017 Suzuki DF200A four stroke outboard motor. If I am reading this right, the sub-battery cable is suppose to hook up and supply voltage to the Engine Control System, but it is showing on the wiring harness diagram that it hooks up to the ignition switch wire which is a white wire. The wiring harness does not have a white wire to hook up in the dash. I have other wires in the dash, but the wires are not white. Does this white wire plug up to a different color wire?

The sub battery cable is supposed to be connected to the positive terminal of the battery, if a single battery. If a dual battery then connect it to the hot output of the battery switch. Or simply put, it is connected to the same place as the main positive battery cable that goes to the motor.Mike

Sub Battery Cable
Thank you for your quick response. I have a singlel battery. I understand that the sub battery cable connects to the main positive post of the battery. I am trying to find out what this cable connects to on the other end. The only wire left under the dash to connect to is a white wire with a blue dash. Does the sub battery cable connect to this white wire with blue dash?Comment

When you connect the sub battery cable to battery pos, the ignition switch will have battery voltage on it via the loom and plug connectors. Funny you mention that white wire with the blue trace, my Australian six meter bar crusher has a voltage supply coming off the battery pos at the starter solenoid via a 15 amp fuse, the white feed wire travels up the wiring loom to the ignition switch.
One day I was having a play with the wiring, and I could not work out why I had battery voltage on both sides of the fifteen amp fuse plug when it was disconnected, so after tracing the wiring it turns out that I also have a 10 amp fuse in the dash via this white wire with a blue trace, I have know idea why they done it.Comment
