  • Can a submerged tach be fixed? If so how to disassemble...?

    Hello all!
I bought a 2016 Suzuki DF150 from someone that shipped it to me in a crate inter-island (we live in Hawaii). We made the mistake of letting things stay on the crate for a while and now unpacking things realized that water had gotten into the tachometer and now it's been a month+ until I finally drained it. So my question is if I need a new tachometer or if the old one could be possibly disassembled and cleaned and got working again without too much hassle? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I did try unscrewing the 3 small screws on the back and now I hear things looser in the tach, but it doesn't want to come apart. I'm guessing the bezel/trim is glued together?

Cactus? Not quite sure what that means exactly... But yeah I kinda figured it was time to move on. It would be cool to take it apart and see how it works though.... any ideas how to disassemble?

      Thanks!
