  • White wire

I have a suzuki 115 and recently have had an issue with the infamous white wire 30amp fuse blowing.
I have isolated it to the fuel gage connection under the dash. But now I'm stumped on where to go from there?
When I plug the fuel gauge connection together the white wire in the engine becomes hot and blows the 30 amp fuse within minutes. Any suggestions?

It's rare for a gauge to short out inside gauge but it is very possible it's a bad gauge, It's normally a shorted wire, check wire connections are good and wires are not shorted. If you have analog gauges then the power and grounds leads on gauges are daisy chained so it could be any of the gauges or wires causing problem.

Was there something you were doing before the fuse started blowing?
You have a direct short in the wiring
The white wire - does it go to your remote, preferred method, or was it wired into the engine?
If to the remote and subsequently to the dash wiring and there was a short on the dash - it should, in my thinking, blow the inline 10A fuse first.
