Hello all, Wondering if a second set of PTT switches can be installed on electronic controls on DF200apx motors (twins)? Running a cat and need easy access to tilt switches - currently the control panel is mounted under the steering wheel and it’s not easy to get to. It’s where the orig Yamaha keys were - it’s nice that start / stop buttons are not easily bumped but didn’t realize the fancy electronic throttles only had one PTT switch running both motors at the same time. Is there any way to add second set of trim switches or do I just need to move the control panel to a more convenient location? Or can after market switches be wired in? Assume that will void warranty - just thinking about options before moving the control panel. Thanks for the help.

I am not the expert in this area but no one has responded to your question....
the remotes on boats that I have been on with dual engines - each engine has its own throttle control and T/T switch.
I am surprised that your remote for a dual engine set up doesn't have the T/T to independently control each engine.

Thanks for the reply. To clarify, the control panel (start/stop buttons and trim buttons) does have independent control for each motor however the throttle box (SPC box) has only a single switch that runs both motors at the same time. The control panel was mounted where the old Yamaha keys were and is not easy to get to for adjusting the motors independently. I don't really want to move the control panel i just wanted to add a second set of trim switches - i was hoping i could wire in an aftermarket switch (like a lenco trim tab switch) but i expect the good ol days of cutting and splicing are no more with these new digital controls. Most Catamarans (including mine) don't have trim tabs, the motors are used to trim the boat so it really helps to have easy access to the trim switches. Any thoughts?

I can see no reason you couldn't add the second set
of independent switches
If you have the the wiring already in place, you are just putting a 2nd switch on the same circuit.
It doesn't care where the circuit closes for the power to flow
think of it as a single pull single throw switch and the one on the remote as a single pull- double throw switch
