  • wiring harness

good evening everyone i live down here in key west and our boating season (along with grouper season) is among us . a few months ago, a bolt rusted and blew out from my engine and toasted my on engine wiring harness . i bought a brand new one from suzuki and installed it today.
i am no mechanic by any means but it didn't seem that hard . after i installed it today with batteries fully charged it would not fire up it is completely dead. the check engine light stays on , with no code . the trim/ told does work but the engine just is not getting any power to it . i have read some things on this site about the white wire but i am not to sure what that means. any thoughts about this would be great .

How about some info about what engine we are talking about here? Horsepower, year?

The white wire supplies power to the ecu. No power to ecu = no engine life, starting or running. Read the sticky thread it should help you make sure youve got it conncected up right.

      hey

hey thanks for writing back to me . its a 2005 suzuki df 140z. before buying the brand new wiring harness i went the cheap route and trying to splice it all together with but connectors , to my amazement the engine fired right up but gave me an error code for the injector . which i talked to a few guys and they told me any drop in voltage through the spice will give me that code .
