Ok, when I first got our boat in the spring of 2019 I popped the cowling off and saw nothing but plastic. I said to myself “well I can’t do anything under here” and put the cowling. Fast forward about a year (was sick for almost a year) I removed the cowling after my 100 hour service and I didn’t see the plastic shroud. I thought back and wasn’t sure I was remembering correctly. I looked on line and didn’t see any info on the shroud. Fast forward to today, I went to the dealer that does my service to buy the new interface cable. I asked them about the shroud they said they forget to put them back on sometimes. She offered to go in the shop to see if she could find one or the next time I come for service they would order another one if they couldn’t find one. She said the cowling was for looks only, to make it look clean.
