Is there a special way to remove the 2 end caps on the trim rods? Here are the pictures of what i'm talking about.

From what i could tell in parts listing it does come apart. The part #38, end block trim pan (1999 parts listing), is shown separately, and has to come off, to get trim cap off shaft.
But i haven't an idea how it comes off.
