Does anyone know if a DF 225 will work on a DT 225. If not anyone know where I can buy a used one? Having a hard time finding a lower unit.

Don't believe the df lower housing is the same part number as the dt series. Your best chance to find a lower unit is to Google that part.
You should also check any local marinas/ dealerships that sell new motors, often they have scrap yards when they re-fit boats with new motors.
I don't think you should jump on any available unless you check the exact housing part number online, then click on that part number. It should list all motors and years that part was used on. Then too you should make sure that the drive shaft length is the same as yours.
