I have twin 2008 DF 300 running at just over 1100 hours. The magnets in the flywheel of the port motor completely disintegrated, jamming the stator motor. Back at the ramp and on inspection of the starboard motor, taking off the flywheel, two of the magnets have large cracks and are starting to deteriorate also. Is this something that should have been detected at the 800, 900, 1000 or 1100 hour services? Should there have been a warning of some sort to inspect further, or are these 100 hour services just oil, filters and anodes?
