I have a twin installation of DF 50 engines, tacho (Rev counter)on starboard engine only works when in salt water(hour meter and revs do show)(all warning lights work fine). If i connect the two engines using a separate battery jumper cable or if i connect the two battery earths, the tacho (rev counter) works perfectly. I am sure the sea water is acting as a conductor and i have a bad earth somewhere, anyone have an idea where to start looking. The engine starts and runs fine. Gauges have been swapped to check i do not have faulty gauge. Appreciate any advice.
