  • Suzuki DF25 weak tell-tale stream when warm

    Hello,

I have a 2000 Suzuki DF25. I am having some issues with a weak stream out of the tell-tale hole. When the engine is cold, there is a strong stream coming out of the hole but after awhile the stream pretty much becomes non-existent at idle. I pulled the lower unit off today and the impeller seems to be in good shape. I also pulled out the thermostat and put it in warm water until it opened up so I am sure that is not the issue. I notice on the part fiche there is a water pressure valve PN: 17660-99E01. Could this possibly be the issue? Can anyone tell me where this is located? I have attached a picture of the parts fiche. The water pressure valve is #2.

    Any help would be great!
    Thanks!

An old impeller can do that, due to losing its flexibility. If yours is more than say 2 years old, I would replace it, and the housing at the same time - always together. Impellers can lose flexibility especially if the motor hasnt been used all that frequently.

More likely to be that than the pressure relief valve.
