hi,
i have a strange thing happening with my twin installation of 2008 DF50s. My starboard tachometer only shows the hours and revs when running in sea water, when i flush the motor on the trailer the rev indicator does not register. if i connect the port engine battery earth to the earth of starboard engine the starboard tachometer works in or out the water, this is also the case if i connect the engine casings via a battery jump cable. Can anyone tell me where to start looking, the sea water is obviously acting as a conductor. there are no other issues, the engine starts and runs perfectly. i have tried replacing the earth cable, does anyone know which of the other ground wires may be the problem?
I have swapped the tacho's to make sure it is not a faulty tachometer.
