  • 03 DF140 back together and running great

Well gents... Installed the new coil and realized the connector to the other coil wasn't seated all the way. Fixed that and took her to the river...
Both engines idle perfectly, smooth, quiet, no vibrations. Kept it under 3K rpms for the first 2 hours and then let em eat. I'm about 5 hours deep into the break-in process, varying the rpms every few minutes and am very pleased with how both engines are running, especially my first rebuild job. So far so good, but time will tell. I'm pretty optimistic, actually planning a trip to the coast to kill some mahi and wahoo next month. Going to run the piss out of it on the local river before we go so hopefully any issues arise there as opposed to 40 miles offshore. I sure have learned a lot in the past 4-5 months. If she holds up, I've saved myself a wad of cash too.

Have you ever had your df140 not going into reverse? My reverse Gears sometime just rattle, seems like the shifter cable won't allow gears to fully engage? Would that be a shifter cable adjustment, or replacement?
