I'm so close to getting my Suzuki SMD 9 up and running, but I'm having trouble getting the device to recognize my homemade "chart card". I have 2 card slots on the side of the unit, and the device recognizes cards in both slots, it just doesn't recognize either of them as a chart card. With the card inserted into either slot, I get a flashing "No charts detected" banner at the top of the screen. The device lets me write settings and logs to the SD cards in either slot. To create the chart card I went to the Furuno site and found the free NOAA Vector data that I'm interested in (MM3-USV-000). I selected the Download USA Map Area link. That takes me to the TimeZero site. I downloaded the zipped dbv file (SDUS00VS57MAP17.dbv.zip). Once the download was complete, I unzipped the dbv file and put in in the root folder of a freshly formatted FAT32 8 GB micro SD card. Is there anything else that I need to do? I've gone through all of the menus on the device that I can find to see if I have to load the charts or configure the device to recognize the chart card, but I don't see anything useful. The manuals are not very helpful either. I feel like I'm close, but missing an important step. Thanks for any additional details that you can provide.
