I'm rebuilding my 1999 DF50 with a used head and used short block. As the camshaft mounting blocks are matched to the head, I have a little compatibility issue because the newer style head doesn't have mounting holes for the number two chain guide. It is the little guide between the camshafts. I'm speculating here, but maybe this little chain guide wasn't necessary and was taken out of the design after 2000 as a cost savings initiative. Any insights? What should I do?
