I have a 12 year old Suzuki 2.5 that I am having trouble getting working again. It started only running iwth the choke pulled or having to alternate between choke and unchoked. After much carb work, I decided to buy a new carb. The first time I ran it after installation, it worked great and that continued for a few trips. Then it stopped running at all. I took the carb apart and cleaned it out again focusing on the idle jets, and now I have it running pretty smoothly at idle, but when I try to throttle up, it immediately dies. I have cleaned the fast jets in the piece that pulls out from the bottom and I know they are clear. I also know fuel is getting to the carb. I should note that I installed a fuel filter in the line to keep crud out of the carb. The line is longer than original so the filter sits under the carb. Just to be sure, I pulled the line off and ran one without the filter and it did not help. Also, if I pull the line off the carb and open the valve, fuel comes out so I don't think that is the problem. I don't know what else could cause it to run only at idle. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks- Dave
