20 hr.lower unit oil

I just did the 20hr. service. The LU oil was clear for the most part,but some came out dark.I ran a magnet through it and nothing. Is this normal looking.?

By 20 hr srevice, I assume you mean a new engine? If so, I wouldn't worry too much about it. No big filings that you can feel, and like you said, the magnet found nothing. If you're concerned do it again after 40 hours or so. The second one should have very little discoloration.

Thank You Sir. I figured it might be from assembly lube that mixed in.
