If anybody was following I’ll give a update.
to clue up i changed the thermostat, changed the water pump, I checked the water pressure valve on the side it looked good.
I ran on muffs a couple weeks ago at idle for 10 minutes maybe. The head did start to get hot to touch. The exhaust not so much.
today I put it in the water and ran at idle, then ran at 2500 for 2-3 minutes with it on the trailer. No alarms so I think I may be good. I guess I will see on the next run. I did pick up a sensor off of a 09’ df 90. same part number online but the number on the side is different. If I get the alarm again I will change it. But as of now I never tried it.

It is an interesting issue. It might also be helpful if you have one of those infrared thermometers that you can point at the power head around where both sensors are and see if there is truly a higher than normal temp. SDS software may be helpful in narrowing this down as well as you can see what the ECU is seeing.
