I'm interested in buying a 1986 dt25 from a fella but as I look up parts I know I'll need to replace I'm having trouble finding a carb kit. I'm not even sure it's an 86 I think the serial number is 611369 but not real sure hard to read. I'm kinda weary cause if I can't find parts I'm going to look for something newer. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Dt25, 1986?, not running?
An 86 dt25 is pretty old, and if not running when you buy it, it may be more expensive, and difficult to get back in shape cost wise. If 2 stroke motors sit-up too long, the oils on the crank bearings, wrist pins, cylinders, etc. will dry out. Once the oils dry up, those areas are susceptible to rusting. The only way to oil 2 stokes is to run them, so if a 2 stroke is running, your chances are much better that it will last a few years.
