I have a pair of 2007 Df300s, with 2ea cranking batteries (group 31 agm).
I also have a house bank (2ea group 31 agm in parallel).
I have them setup with a BEP battery cluster that has 2ea DVSRs/ACRs
The DVSRs/ACRs try to maintain the start batteries at 13.0v.
These batteries rest at 12.8/12.9v.
Because of this, the DVSRs/ACRs are frequently opening/closing trying to keep the start at 13.0V..
The problem I'm having is a depletion of the house bank during extended idle periods, like overnight fishing for tuna or deep dropping.
Since the DVSRs/ACRs open/close so frequently, and amp output is low at idle, they never recharge the house bank at low RPM.
My plan is to install the aux charge cables and hope that they do a better job of maintaining the house batteries.
Does anyone have any input on aux charge cables vs acr?
