1977 DT25 Carb Cable?

Hey all,

I'm brand new to the forum. I picked up a 1977 DT25. I cleaned out the carb and it fired right up after it had been sitting for around 20 years. There is a cable on the side of the carb that I'm not sure about. It looks like it connects to the left but i'm not sure what its purpose is. If you have any knowledge, please help.

That doesn’t look like a Suzuki part, maybe the previous owners “MacGyvered” something up?

Right on. I wasn’t sure. Either way, the motor runs great

I looks like it’s supposed to connect to the brass piece to the left. The nut on the top would hold the wire inside that hole. The brass piece spins freely if that make sense
