06 DF70, started with water out the pee hole, then nothing

Dear Esteemed Suzuki Forum members,
My new to me, low hours (220) 06 DF70, started the trip peeing water out the hole, then nothing. Previous owner said he changed the water pump 2 years ago. Water was at 50 degrees, no over heat indications. 1 hour of use total on today's trip.
I believe that, no water out the pee hole is bad. So, I'm planning on changing the water impellor.

Do you think this plan is solid?

Do a full water pump kit including the housing. Including the housing is advisable because even though it might look OK any small imperfection in shape can affect pump performance.

Impellers can deteriorate simply from not being used.

So it's a good plan on a motor that's now to you do do this maintenance.

I would also recommend changing the water separating fuel filter between the tank and the engine - there is one fitted, isn't there?? If not, that's your next job. Dirty fuel and EFI engines are a bad mix! Racor style filter provides good protection.

Did you try to clean the tip of the water outlet? Sometimes a small piece of debris picked up from the water will clog the outlet and not let water through. A small diameter copper wire can be used to clean out near the end - run the wire up a little but be careful to not break off a piece - I have actually just run my finger over the hole and had it start spouting water - good luck.

It was small debris stuck in the pee hole. This outboard allows easy access to remove the pee hole, and clean.

Pee's like a race horse now.
